Staff Member: Karen Heuer
Hi, my name is Karen Heuer and I am happy to serve our faith community now in the role of Christian Service Director. I grew up in this parish, as my parents were founding members of St. Owen. For sixteen years, I worked with children at St. Owen in the role of DRE. I am married to my husband Bob and we have five grown children and seven grandchildren. My undergraduate work was at University of Michigan, and my graduate studies were from Wayne State University. I have also attended Sacred Heart Seminary. We have a wonderful faith community at St. Owen. Mother Theresa, considered an expert on living a Christian life, lived a life of service through love and compassion. In so doing, she gave the world a message and a prescription for peace and happiness. She said “Don’t ever forget whom you are touching. That person is Christ, your brother or sister in the distressing disguise of the poor. Serve that person with compassion. That is your purpose in life. That is how you will be judged.” We are all called to be the hands and feet of Christ and I look forward to working with you to see how much we can accomplish, reaching out to love and serve others both within the parish, and in the wider community.
