There are different opportunities for musical expression provided at St. Owen. These varied expressions support and assist the congregation in their worship. Furthermore, music sets the appropriate tone for a particular celebration, and is a unique medium to express joy and enthusiasm. Music opens one more avenue for the assembly’s participation.
The music ministry uses vocalists, choir, singing groups, and solos. Cantors are needed for leading in the Responsorial psalm and leading other chanted responses.
Instrumentalists of all types are used in worship.
Rehearsals are held weekly. Singing or playing at regular and special liturgies, as needed.

Some musical ability is naturally needed, but trained musicians are not always necessary. A love of worship expressed in music and cooperation in working with others is important.
